On Monday, March 28 the photo and video sharing app Instagram is implementing some major changes to the way their users see their feed. Plus, they have also added individual notifications to accounts, but their users don’t seem to be impressed.
Unfortunately, it looks like everyone’s favorite social media app is about to enrage all of it’s users with some wild new changes. The app is due to start changing the way users view their feeds on Monday, March 28, by putting the more “popular” posts at the top instead of the most recent. Um, awkward.
But, they are also adding individual post notifications, which means users can go to each account they follow and opt to receive an alert every time those selected accounts post.
This will also allow those posts to show in the new feeds, but only if notifications are on for that account. Obviously, this gives users not one, but two things to be pretty upset about.
Yikes. It definitely seems like Instagram did not think this one through. Hopefully their next update will be one that allows users to decide what their own feeds look like, with or without notifications on their favorite accounts.
