LeBron James wants to form an NBA superteam with 'The Brotherhood'

In LeBron James' craziest dreams, there exists a super-team the likes of which the NBA has never seen -- and the four most important members are pretty big fans of wine:

That group -- LeBron, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul -- calls itself "The Brotherhood." We've known for quite a while that they're thick as thieves. But it's never been clear how much they desire to play on the same team together.

According to a recent interview with Bleacher Report, though, it's something James would absolutely love to see happen before their careers are over. And he'd even take a pay cut to make it happen.

"I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together," James said. "At least one, maybe one or two seasons—me, Melo, D-Wade, CP—we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that."

Maybe at the end of their careers, James said. Maybe sooner. One more ring chase, this time with everyone on board.

Melo, meanwhile, reflects thoughtfully on his decision to sign a five-year contract as LeBron and Wade signed three-year deals.

The latter two apparently hinted to Anthony that he should line up his contract with theirs, which might have changed basketball history, with Melo taking Bosh's spot in Miami. Of course, it's nearly impossible to play out all the possibilities in such a complicated counterfactual.

Just the thought of "The Decision" adding another layer of drama -- and potentially ending in New York, not Miami -- has our head spinning.

Back to the future and LeBron's comments, though. With all of the chaos and hubbub going on in Cleveland, James will undoubtedly fuel more speculation about where he'll play next season. (The answer? Cleveland. With 99.999% certainty.)

But let's allow that some time in the not-so-distant future, "The Brotherhood" comes together for one last hurrah. Where would they play? Cleveland? New York? Miami? A newly-formed Las Vegas franchise?

Los Angeles, where all four have homes?

Would they play for the Lakers?

Oh. Oh goodness. They'd play for the Lakers, wouldn't they?

If these four amigos once again vacation together during the summer, prior to the free-agency signing period, and it's in Los Angeles? The Internet will literally burn down. We're not sure how. But it'll happen.
