Melissa McCarthy Drops F-Bombs In Hilarious Tirade Over Texting In Movies

Melissa McCarthy is the boss! The funnywoman stars in a new PSA against texting and checking your phone at the movies, and her potty-mouthed message is both informative and giggle-inducing.

Melissa McCarthy, 45, doesn’t want you to talk or text while at a movie theater, and she’s not afraid to let you know it. In a new clip from the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema theater chain, released on March 28, Melissa straight-up tells moviegoers that if they’re the type of person to be on the phone during a movie, they probably suck.

As she pretends to pump iron in the gym, the comedian starts out with a polite recommendation that moviegoers not check their phones when at the movies. “Uh-oh, I guess you caught me,” she says, sandwiched between two shirtless, muscled dudes. “I’m working out and exercising my body, because my body is my holy temple.
And much like every holy temple, I treat it with respect, and that’s how you should treat the Alamo Drafthouse, because it’s a temple…to movies. I mean, you wouldn’t come into a holy temple and text or make calls, would you?” Melissa asks, her voice as sweet as honey.

From there, it quickly deteriorates into a funny, curse-filled rant.

“When you text, the light comes on, and you ruin every f*ck*ng thing for every f*ck*ng person in the theater! You don’t need to check your Facebook, because nobody likes your face, or you book, because you’re the kind of person that keeps pulling out your phone during the movie,” Melissa declares. Take a look:

Melissa is the star of The Boss, out April 8. If you go see it, don’t you dare try and text during the film — Melissa might just have you thrown out if she hears about it!

Will you see Melissa’s new movie?
