Now that Coachella 2016 is finally here, it’s time for us to relive some major drama from year’s past. Over the years we’ve seen it all. From Lindsay Lohan ignoring the judge’s orders to avoid partying to Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West fighting over Amber Rose! This festival wouldn’t be complete without something crazy happening, so let’s take a look back at some wacky, jaw-dropping moments!
There are so many over-the-top moments and we don’t even know where to begin. Let’s start with Selena Gomez fleeing Coachella 2014 early! She was having such a fun weekend with Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner but then things took a turn. She found out that Kendall and Kylie were both getting a little too close to Justin Bieber, so she left.
She then dumped Justin and unfollowed all of them on social media. At the time an insider told The Sun: “Selena is convinced something has gone on between Justin and Kylie.
At Coachella, [Justin and Selena] looked to be back on track. Selena was hanging out with Kylie too and they were behaving like best friends. Then [Selena] heard stuff about Justin and Kylie and felt totally betrayed.
She went berserk and called it all off again. Selena is in a really bad place at the moment — she’s on the edge and now overcome with jealousy. She really needs to wash her hands of Justin for good.” Yikes, well the drama continues and Kendall, Kylie, Selena and Justin may all be there again this year!
Remember that time Madonna shoved her tongue down Drake‘s throat during Coachella 2015?! It was bizarre and totally gross! Immediately fans thought that Drake was dissing Madonna because he looked freaked out and wiped his face! What about when Tupac resurfaced as a hologram, 15 years after he was killed in 1996?
It was for Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre‘s performance and fans were split as to whether this was appropriate and there was a ton of backlash! But this look back down memory lane wouldn’t be complete without Lilo. During this time she was going through a lot of legal drama. She was in and out of jail in 2014 and even though a judge told her to stop partying, she went to the biggest party weekend of the year — Coachella! Get this, the year prior, she went to Coachella and then checked herself into rehab … oy vey!
The year after Justin and Selena had their own drama at Coachella, Justin was at the center of another scandal in 2015. The singer was kicked out of the festival and escorted away in a chokehold after Justin refused to be turned away from Drake’s performance. As he argued with security, he was reportedly grabbed by the neck and pushed out. Justin was going to press charges but it never happened. So nuts!
Let’s move on to a crazy love triangle between Kanye, Amber and Wiz in 2011. During Kanye’s set, he dissed Amber: “‘I did anything for that blonde dike. And she did anything when the time’s right.” That’s when Wiz reportedly approached Kanye and the two had a verbal altercation. It was also reported that their respective entourages began shoving each other.
So crazy! Speaking of exes and awkward love triangles … when Kristen Stewart went to Coachella in 2013 after her scandalous affair with Rupert Sanders on the set of Snow White and The Huntsman, she narrowly avoided his ex-wife, Liberty Ross. At the time, Liberty was still married to Rupert and we reported that they were standing within feet of each other. Luckily, they didn’t have a run-in but that was a close call!
