Girl, 16, stabbed her older brother to death to protect their mother during an argument, family say

A teenage girl stabbed her older brother to death because she was trying to protect their mother during an argument, the family said.

Police arrived at the home at Telegraph Square Lane and Oakwell Lane in Harris County, Texas, at 10.30pm on Sunday to reports of a stabbing.

Officers found a 19-year-old man dead inside the house.
He was identified by family members as Mario Aguirre, dead, Click2Houston reports.

Family members said Aguierre had been arguing with his mother about her husband.
His 16-year-old sister allegedly intervened and accidentally stabbed him, they told the station.

Another sister of the victim Priscilla Aguirre, said: ‘It’s crazy.'
She added: I just know that he got stabbed and he died.’

‘I couldn’t believe it,' a friend of Aguierre’s, who did not want to be named, told ABC13.
'I’m with him every day. He was a good man, he really was.’

Harris County Homicide Division are investigating the incident.

The 16-year-old girl has been taken in for questioning, but it is not clear what charges she may face.
