A Lithuanian mother has been charged with murdering her newborn baby girl, who died 'a few minutes' after she was born.

Gintare Suminaite, 29, will appear before Crawley Magistrates Court on Monday charged with the murder of her daughter.

An ambulance was called to her home in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, shortly after 8.30am on Wednesday but the baby girl was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Suminaite was rushed to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester for urgent medical treatment and arrested on suspicion of murder upon her release from hospital.
