Victoria Beckham keeps it cool in skinny jeans and flat sandals as she and David enjoy a rare date without their children at Nobu in Malibu

They're one of the most famous couples in the world, and like to enjoy the finer things in life on occasion.

But even when dining at a top restaurant, David and Victoria Beckham are clearly too cool for school, as shown when they stepped out for a lunch date at Nobu in Malibu on Monday.

The long-term twosome looked casual yet still stylish as they arrived at the popular sushi restaurant for their daytime date, a rare outing with just the two of them, none of their four children in tow.

With the denim rucked up and rolled up at the ankles, her flat flip-flop sandals smacking the tarmac as she made her entrance, showing that she has well and truly given up wearing her iconic towering heels at all times.

Completing her laid back, understated ensemble, the former Spice Girl sported a loose-fitting silky black camisole, showing off her lithe arms and a hint of her cleavage.

The brunette wore her long tresses loose and straight, falling over her bare shoulders, and she kept the beating sunshine out of her eyes with a white wide-brimmed fedora on her head.

As ever, Victoria donned a pair of tinted shades to hide her face and protect her eyes, keeping her gaze fixed on the ground as she emerged from her car with her husband to head into the celebrity hotspot.

David, meanwhile, looked just as blasé as his wife for their outing, the handsome retired footballer teaming dark jeans with a cosy navy sweater.
It was a rare sighting of just David and Victoria, the two of them clearly enjoying a break away from their three sons Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 13, and 11-year-old Cruz, and four-year-old daughter Harper.

However, the previous day saw the doting mother share a super-cute snap of her youngest child painting on a canvas in the bright sunshine while gushing over the youngster's talent.

Using an easel and working outdoors for inspiration, the youngster looked to have an eye for art as she went about mixing bold colours with large brush strokes.

The scenic surroundings made for an impressive workspace. The easel stood just feet from the family's swimming pool and the sunny blue sky added to the relaxing ambiance.

Victoria captioned her picture: 'Fun day in the sunshine painting with @kenpaves X I love u baby girl X @davidbeckham @brooklynbeckham X #proudmummy X.'
The famous family have been spending their time in Hollywood in recent days, and were last week pictured out together - all six of them - out for a workout at their favourite gym retreat, SoulCycle.

Last week, speed demon David also spent some time away from their home to enjoy a road trip on his motorcycle.

David and Victoria have been together for almost 20 years, and married for 16 and a half years.
After years working together, it was recently revealed that the sporting icon resigned from the position of Director at Victoria's fashion label to focus on his own brand- DB Ventures Limited.

A Beckham family spokesperson told MailOnline that their decision to re-structure their various businesses and to disentangle their brands from one another is largely an accounting issue.

'David and Victoria’s respective businesses have grown strongly in a short space of time.

'They are different businesses – DVBL is a licencing and partnership business, VBL is a luxury, fashion brand - and it makes little commercial sense for them to continue to be merged together and report combined figures.'

Regardless of David's decision to leave the business, the former pop icon's business will undoubtedly continue to flourish - as she opened a store in Hong Kong earlier this month.
