Disgusting moment family discovers a DEAD RAT floating inside Dr Pepper bottle - after their three-year-old son had started drinking it

The family of a toddler found a 'filthy' three-inch long rat floating inside their son's half-drunk bottle of Dr Pepper, it is claimed.
John Graves, of Katy, Texas, said his family was shocked to discover the rodent inside the bottle - a day after they had purchased it for his grandson in Galveston.

The youngster had drunk part of the soft drink while in the backseat of the car, but had not finished it and so they put the cap back on.

Mr Graves said they had not noticed the 'filthy' creature inside the bottle until the following day because of the liquid's dark colour.

Posting images on Facebook, he wrote: 'Nothing like your grandson drinking half a Dr Pepper only to find a dead rat floating on the bottle.
'Response from Dr Pepper was... "send us the bottle and we will let you know something in 6-8 weeks!" Are you kidding me? What if my grandson drank poison or disease?'

He told KPRC 2: 'This morning when they opened it they found something floating in there. [It's] about 3 inches long with a big tail. You think it's rabies. You think of dirty, filthy rodents.'

The family rushed the youngster to a pediatrician, who undertook blood and urine tests.

A Dr Pepper spokesperson told the broadcaster the company was 'very concerned' about the family's complaint.
It said it was almost impossible for foreign objects to enter its containers during the bottling process.
However, it said it was unable to carry out a full investigation until the Graves family returned the bottle with the rat in it.

Mr Graves said they wanted to keep the item in order to carry out their own testing.
