We never saw this one coming! Zayn Malik, 23, reportedly dumped Gigi Hadid just two weeks after her 21st birthday, according to a source who spoke to Life & Style magazine. How did this couple, who seemed so incredibly happy together, suddenly call it quits? Read on for the deets!
Despite the fact that Zayn was so loving and romantic throughout Gigi’s 21st birthday celebrations (hello, he hung out with her family!), he allegedly was hiding his unhappiness. “Zayn broke the news to Gigi two weeks after her birthday,” a source told Life & Style. “He sat her down at dinner and told her how he felt.”
Wow! So what happened? Why would Zayn allegedly break up with Gigi? Gigi never saw Zayn’s explanation coming. “Zayn told Gigi that he wanted to keep his options open and work on himself,” the source told the mag. “Gigi was shocked because she thought they were a perfect couple. She is absolutely heartbroken and has been feeling really sad ever since.”
It’s crazy to think that this could happen, seeing as the couple looked so wrapped up in each other at the Met Gala on May 2. Gigi and Zayn wore matching robotic arm gear to play up the event’s technology theme, and couldn’t keep their (metallic) hands off each other! Gigi even recently wore t-shirt that basically declared her love for her (now ex?) boyfriend — in a pic that he posted! Should she send that to the thrift store? We must also note that they haven’t been pictured together since May 7.
