Amber Heard’s friend iO Tillett Wright, who was on the phone with her when Johnny Depp, 52, was allegedly physically abusive on May 21, is sharing her side of the story. After a concierge came forward and claimed Amber had no bruises on her face after the alleged attack, iO is defending her friend with a detailed account of what she saw — and it’s a much different story.
A livid iO took to Twitter to respond to a story about the concierge’s shocking claim. “BULLS***. I’ve had enough,” she wrote. “I saw the bruises. Many times. And the fat lip. And the cut head. How much evidence does a woman need to present?! She has photos, texts, witnesses, and filed a restraining order.”
In her court documents asking for a restraining order from her ex, Amber revealed that she was on the phone with iO when Johnny allegedly attacked her on May 21. “I was on the f***ing phone when he hit her,” iO added. “I HEARD HER SCREAM. I will testify. Here and in court. Under oath. WHAT ELSE DOES A WOMAN NEED?”
The 52-year-old has denied all of Amber’s claims of abuse, and when police arrived to the scene on May 21, they reported that Amber had no evidence of physical injuries. Additionally, she refused to file a report at the time of the domestic dispute call, which she later claimed was for the sake of Johnny’s career.
The May 21 fight isn’t the only instance of physical abuse Amber is alleging, either. She also detailed another incident from Dec. 2015 in her legal documents, in which she claims she “truly feared for [her] life.” Alleged injuries from that fight were published in People magazine on June.
The back-and-forth between Amber and Johnny has gone on since she was granted a temporary restraining order on May 27. They are expected in court later this month to determine whether or not the order will be made permanent.
