Bryson Tiller Slays Performance Of ‘Don’t’ After Big Night At The 2016 BET Awards

Bryson Tiller, 23, proved himself as a musical force during his stellar performance of “Don’t” at the 2016 BET Awards on June 26. The singer, who coins his style as a fuse between “trap and Hip-Hop influenced R&B” crushe dhis performance getting the crowd to sing along the whole time! We’ve got the exciting scoop about his big night, here!

Bryson aka “Pen Griffey” pulled out all the stops during his performance. With red and blue lighting set in the background, he emerged from clouds of smoke and captivated the audience with his lyrical skills. Also featured on the fire-filled stage was an ambulance — clearly it was burnin’ up in there!

Bryson must have been feeling himself, as he should! He won Best Male R&B Pop Artist and he also took home the prize for Best New Artist. Slay! He also seemed so humble with his short-and-sweet thank you speeches. Bryson is one of many diverse artists that graced the stage including the likes of Usher and Future.

Bryson first received critical acclaim after releasing his hit single “Don’t” on his SoundCloud page, grabbing the attention of major labels and music industry insiders, including Timbaland. The original video has already garnered 130 million views on YouTube, leading many of his new fans to search for his other jams that feature his same, youthful edgy style. R&B songstress Sevyn Streeter also couldn’t resist adding her feminine touch to a remix of his catchy single. Bryson’s debut album TRAPSOUL was released in April and went platinum, something many artists are still striving for today.

The “Let Em’ Know” crooner is in some regards a rookie, but is definitely holding his own up against music heavy-hitters like Chris Brown and Beyoncé for Video Of The Year. He celebrated commercial success when he signed to RCA records on Aug. 25, 2015. He also denied a chance to sign with Drake‘s record label OVO — which lets you know he’s talented. Pen also recently teased his 2016 project, She’s Got My Soul. We will be checking it out, that’s for sure!
