Celebs Mourn Istanbul Airport Attack Victims: Katy Perry, Sophia Bush & More

So sad! Yet another senseless act of terrorist violence has taken 36 innocent lives, this time at the international terminal of the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey.  The city is a favorite to many well-traveled celebrities who took time out of their day to mourn the tragic attack.





One June 28, the eyes of the world were on Istanbul, Turkey where three armed suicide-vest wearing gunman killed at least 36 people and injured 150 more. Stars came out in force to discuss the horrific attack, getting their words out via Twitter. For some celebs like Sophia Bush and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, they mourned that it happened a city so beloved to them while others like Katy Perry used the incident to remind us this world is a seriously broken place these days.

Three armed and suicidal gunmen burst into Ataturk Airport’s international arrivals level and began opening fire before they all blew themselves up.  Sadly, it’s another terrifying act of violence that seems to be directed towards a place that would have many Western tourists and people just looking to visit the beautiful Mediterranean country. Istanbul has been a highly popular tourist location in the past decade, with many returning out of love for the vibrant city


That wasn’t lost on many stars who have fond memories of the city and are devastated by this horrific attack that appears to be ISIS inspired. Other celebs are giving thoughts and prayers to the victims while some like Katy are looking at this situation and when coupled with so many acts of violence and hate recently, is asking the poignant question about we go about fixing such an unhappy world.
