Amber Heard, 30, claimed that her estranged husband Johnny Depp, 52, had been abusive from the beginning of their four-year relationship, and now one of her friends is reliving the details of what she remembers as a horrible incident where Amber “feared for her life.”
Amber’s friend says that she rushed to see the actress last December after receiving a worrisome text from her.
“I got to her apartment to find her with a cut and bruised lip, a swollen eye and a chunk of hair missing from the top of her head,” the confidant told the New York Post. “This incident really stuck with me because she confided in me that day that she feared for her life after an intoxicated Johnny tried to suffocate her with a pillow.”
The pal goes on to say that this wasn’t the only time he abused her. “I have personally witnessed the aftermath of Johnny Depp’s violent and abusive behavior towards her on many occasions,” the source said.
The couple, who met on their film, The Rum Diary, were very affectionate at the beginning of their relationship, but reportedly did hit some troubles over the years as his partying reportedly worsened. “Amber was, like, ‘What am I doing with this old man who used to look like Johnny Depp?’ ” another source told The Post.
On May 27, Amber was granted a restraining order against Johnny after appearing in court with bruises on her face that she claimed were caused by him throwing an iPhone at her face. On June 1, more photos were revealed in People magazine, showing Amber’s face in 2015, bruised and cut up — marks that she alleges were also from his abuse.
