Kimbo Slice Dead: MMA Fighter Dies At 42 After Being Rushed To The Hospital

So devastating! MMA legend Kimbo Slice has tragically passed away at just 42-years-old. He was just admitted to the hospital June 6 and was in ‘grave’ condition but sadly didn’t make it.

Our hearts a breaking over the loss of Kimbo Slice. The MMA legend suddenly passed away after he was rushed from his Coral Springs, FL home to an area hospital, and sadly he didn’t make it. There’s still no word yet on what caused Kimbo — real name Kevin Ferguson — to pass at the way too young age of 42, so keep reading for what we know.

Kimbo’s death was first acknowledged by his training center American Top Team, who said in a tweet that “The ATT Family and South Florida community lost a legend today. RIP Kimbo,” along with a photo of the fighter outside of one of their Miami area facilities. TMZ had first reported just hour earlier that he had been hospitalized and things weren’t looking good. Police did go to his home to gather information from family members, but said that the situation was not a police matter meaning there was no criminal involvement in whatever caused his death.

The CEO of Bellator MMA later confirmed the news according to TMZ, saying, “We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family.’

“One of the most popular MMA fighters ever, Kimbo was a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport. Outside of the cage he was a friendly, gentle giant and a devoted family man. His loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ferguson family and all of Kimbo’s friends, fans and teammates.”

The popular MMA star’s last fight was back in Feb. at Bellator 149 where he defeated Dada 5000 — but the victory was reversed when the athlete tested positive for a banned steroid. The Bahamian-born brawler became an internet sensation thanks to videos of his mutual combat street fights, which helped get him signed to brawl at legit MMA events.

Folks, leave your thoughts and memories of Kimbo below.
