Nicki Minaj Slammed By Fans After Blocking Fan Asking Her To Speak Out About Orlando

Fear the Barbz, because they turned on Nicki Minaj after she blocked a fan for criticizing her silence on the Orlando shooting! Nicki got slammed for ignoring her ‘gay fan base’ and promoting her music instead of supporting the LGBTQ community! Click to see.

Nicki Minaj, 33, just dropped a new track called “Don’t Hurt Me,” and that’s probably what she’s saying to her fans! She clicked the UNFOLLOW button after one fan tore into her for not commenting on the horrific Orlando shooting, and that caused her fans to call her out for being a hypocrite!

The drama all started after Twitter user @jxhnnybxrrios tweeted “I’m kind of offended that Nicki could tweet about a song but can’t acknowledge the shootings in Orlando” on June 15. While many other celebs have given passionate memorials to the 49 people slaughtered in the Pulse nightclub on June 12, Nicki has been quiet. Instead, she has promoted her new track with DJ Mustard. It seems Nicki wasn’t too thrilled with Johnny’s criticism, and she unfollowed him!

“LMFAOOO,” Johnny tweeted. “Nicki unfollowed me for my tweets!” While Johnny might have been laughing, the rest of Nicki’s fans weren’t happy. “It’s important for [Nicki] to acknowledge what happened in Orlando,” one user tweeted. “She just silenced a fan for wanting [a comment.]”
Other fans demanded more “How do you have a huge gay fan base and not acknowledge Orlando?” one asked. “And instead promote a new song…” Some also pointed out that “A simple RIP Orlando Victims” would work, and that she “spoke during other tragedies so why not this one?”

“Nicki Minaj was more vocal about not getting nominated for a [MTV Video Music Award] than about the Orlando shooting,” one user said. Ouch. However, some Barbz defended Nicki, saying that she wasn’t “obligated” to comment on the tragedy. Still, when some say that the LGBTQ community helped launch her career, it’s not surprising that they are outraged that she hasn’t shown any support over this deadly attack at a gay nightclub.

What do you think? Should Nicki issue a statement on the Orlando shooting? Do you think she should have unfollowed that fan for criticizing her?
