‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Couple Marcus Grodd & Lacy Faddoul Split: It Was A ‘Toxic’ Relationship

So sad. Macrus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul from ‘Bachelor In Paradise’ have called it quits. After their beach ‘wedding’ in 2015, their passionate love affair turned into a ‘toxic’ relationship. Find out what went wrong — we’ve got all the details here.

Lacy Faddoul, 28, and her beau Marcus Grodd, 27, have decided to go their separate ways after falling in love on Bachelor In Paradise. The former flames previously wed in an exotic ceremony in Aug. 2015 — but they fooled everyone when it was discovered that the “I-dos” exchanged in Mexico were not legally binding. Now, Marcus explains what further led to their demise.

“Looking back now, it just seems like [Lacy] became a different person,” Marcus told PEOPLE. “Her priorities changed, what she wanted in life changed. She was just a very different person from when I first met and got engaged to.” He added that their personalities didn’t entirely mix well either, noting: “It became a toxic relationship at times. She was very controlling. I was more of an appeasing person. I wouldn’t want to fight. There were a lot of barriers that we couldn’t overcome. I think that that made her change her mind.”

Lacy and Marcus met on season 1 of Bachelor in Paradise in 2014. They captivated the masses with their heart-wrenching love story and the pair became engaged before the season finished filming. Although they later wed on the premiere episode of season 2, the couple didn’t technically have a marriage license in Mexico nor the United States.

It seems when the cameras turned off there was an entirely different scenario between Lacy and Marcus. He claimed that she was disinterested and their nuptials kept getting postponed, leading to the “drop” of their relationship. Marcus was finishing his Coast Guard training at the time, so he had to keep his distance. Seems like trouble in paradise.

Marcus continued, “I think Lacy and I are done for good. From what I’ve seen of her the past six months, 10 months, a year, that’s not the woman I want to have my kids with and have a family with.” He concludes, “I think it’s good and gone.” Considering both Marcus and Lacy’s feelings, it seems like parting ways may be the best choice.
