Jared Leto Teases Joker Spinoff Movie: ‘Suicide Squad’ Is Just An ‘Introduction’

It sounds like we’re going to see more of The Joker! Jared Leto teased a Joker standalone movie while talking about ‘Suicide Squad’ on ‘Good Morning America’ on July 29!

“I feel like this film [Suicide Squad] is an introduction to The Joker, and I’m hopeful we will see more to come,” he said on Good Morning America. He added that playing The Joker was the “role of a lifetime” and the “most fun I’ve ever had.” Honestly, would anyone have a problem with a Joker spinoff movie? NOPE!

Suicide Squad hasn’t even hit theaters yet, and Jared, 44, has already gathered so much buzz for his performance. In just the trailers alone, Jared’s Joker is unlike any Joker we’ve ever seen. He’s demented, violent and so much fun.

Jared never broke character while filming Suicide Squad. He completely transformed for the role. He even sent his co-stars everything from a live rat to bullets! No, that’s not a joke.

Jared is the first actor to tackle the complicated role of the Joker on the big screen since Heath Ledger’s performance in The Dark Knight. Heath died in 2008 just a few months after he finished filming the movie. He won an Oscar posthumously for his incredible performance.

“Heath did an impeccable, perfect performance as the Joker,” Jared said in his interview with Rolling Stone. “It’s one of the best performances ever in cinema. I had met Heath before. I didn’t know him well, but he was a beautiful person.”
Jared has said he feels honored to take on the iconic villain. He stars alongside Margot Robbie, 26, Will Smith, 47, Jai Courtney, 30, Cara Delevingne, 23, Viola Davis, 50, and more in Suicide Squad. The highly-anticipated movie will hit theaters on Aug. 5.
