Lady Gaga, 30, and Taylor Kinney, 35, sadly parted ways in early July, claims TMZ. The “Born This Way” singer seems to be adjusting well, as she was spotted in Malibu last week, sans her giant sparkler.
She has also since unfollowed her beau on social media. Meanwhile, her ex, Taylor, recently celebrated his birthday and Gaga was nowhere in sight. It certainly comes as a shock that the pair put an end to their seemingly blissful relationship, but it hasn’t always been this way — there were happier times before this. So let’s take a look back to when their tangible chemistry first started.
From the moment they first locked eyes on the set of her music video, “You and I,” in 2011, it was clear that they couldn’t stay away from each other for long. Gaga and Taylor started officially dating only a few months later, before enduring a short breakup in May 2012. After they reconciled, the lovebirds looked more smitten then ever, and were constantly attending events hand-in-hand with stars in their eyes.
The Chicago Fire actor eventually decided to take the next step and proposed to his leading lady in 2015 with a sizable diamond ring. “He gave me his heart on Valentine’s Day, and I said YES!” Gaga wrote alongside a close-up photo of her platinum Lorraine Schwartz heart-shaped ring, which had an estimated 8-karat rock. Taylor continued to show he was a great guy for Gaga on Oct. 1, letting her have the spotlight at her American Horror Story premiere, which was her first major role on a hit TV show.
One year later, Gaga and Taylor we’re even so comfortable with themselves that they BOTH stripped down in the name of art: on the cover of V Magazine for their spring 2016 issue. Holding a camera as they straddled each other in the buff, the beautiful shot captivated everyone. The profits went to the Born This Way Foundation, which was organized to support the wellness of young people, while also drawing awareness to mental illnesses.
