Liam Payne Signs Solo Recording Deal With Capitol Records — Leaving One Direction?

This is HUGE news! One Direction’s Liam Payne just signed his first-ever solo recording contract with Capitol Records. As exciting as that is for him and Cheryl , what’s up with One Direction’s future?

It’s official, Directioners: our third guy has signed his very own solo record deal with a new label. Liam, 22, will be one of the newest shopping-only posts so that you can get acquainted to their stage sooner rather than later.

Liam made the announcement to his fans on Twitter, revealing am image from Capitol Records with his name on it. “They have an amazing history of artists, I hope I can follow in their footsteps,” Liam wrote, obviously elated by his own very exciting news.

Liam also went on to make it very clear to Directioners that they are his “home.” Then, he followed up by letting Directioners know the truth:
As you might remember, this isn’t the first time a member of One Direction has gone solo. In March 25,  Zayn Malik left the band in a middle of a tour, only to sign his solo record deal just a few short weeks later. Plus, Harry Styles also signed his on $80 million record contract in early 2016, which continued to fuel the fire that 1D might be 1-done.
