“A DNA profile, a partial profile matching the defendant or consistent with the defendant, your honor, to the point in the hundreds of billionths of chance of it being any other individual, was discovered in the…pants of the complainant in this case, and also tested positive indicating the presence of semen,” the ADA said during a hearing on July 26.
Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, was charged with raping a 12-year-old back in December, but pleaded not guilty and got out on $100,000 bail at the time. He was indicted on felony child rape charges, and can face life in prison if he’s convicted.
However, the prosecutor offered Jelani a plea deal of 15 years to life, and both sides are currently discussing all the possibilities, according to Bossip. If the 37-year-old does not agree to this compromise, he’s expected to go to trial in November.
Nicki has not publicly commented on this shocking case, although she did post bail for her brother when he was arrested on Dec. 4, 2015. She actually used two homes she owns as means for the bond, one which Jelani was living in and one where her own mother was living.
It’s never been a secret that Nicki and her older brother are close — she even paid for his $40,000 wedding to Jacqueline Robinson at the Coral House in Baldwin, New York in Aug. 2015, and even gushed over the happy couple on Instagram after the lavish affair.
