‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 6 Scoop: Aladdin & Jafar Heading To Storybrooke

Jafar and Aladdin will very much be a part of ‘Once Upon A Time,’ when Season 6 premieres in the fall, the show’s panel revealed at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 23. Get all the amazing details here!

Finally! When Once Upon A Time returns in the fall, the show will be taking on the story of Aladdin, which was revealed during a Season 6 teaser at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 23.

At the close of the panel, co-creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis showed fans the first three minutes from the Sunday, Sept. 25 season premiere. And in those three minutes, fans saw “Jafar flying on a carpet to taunt Aladdin,” according to HollywoodLife sister site Deadline.

Deniz Akdeniz will play Aladdin, while Oded Fehr has been cast to portray Jafar. And they’ll join Giles Matthey as Morpheus and Craig Horner as the Count of Monte Cristo, who were previously cast for Season 6.

Before Comic-Con, Eddy told Deadline next season is “not going to be ‘Hyde comes to town, we fight with him for 10 episodes, and then in the winter finale he dies, we move on.’ We kind of changed around what we’re doing this year… going back to that season 1 mentality, with small town stories and smaller arcs. We’re planning a 22-episode story, as opposed to just kind of breaking it up into 2 parts.”

Other tidbits revealed at Comic-Con include the fact that there may be a wedding in Emma and Hook’s future, Emma will be divided between supporting Regina and “protecting everyone she loves,” and we’ll see a fun bromance between Hook and Prince Charming!

It sounds like Season 6 is going to be a lot of fun, and we can’t wait to watch it unfold!

Folks, what do YOU think of Season 6 thus far? Are you excited to see Aladdin and Jafar? Tell us below!
