Liam Payne‘s, 22, solo record deal announcement may be a celebratory moment for some, but for most of the internet, it’s apparent that a lot of his fans and loyal One Direction goers (who have been confident the group would reunite) are feeling pretty sad. Liam took to Twitter after his announcement to express his feelings about 1D and the future.
But, that didn’t seem to be enough. Twitter users everywhere sent social media on fire with tweets angry tweets, even some demanding to explain his decision. Check out some of the backlash Liam is getting over his solo news and statement.
The news comes after Zayn Malik, 23, left the band and pursued a solo career. Then the group went on a “hiatus,” in 2016, deciding not to tour to promote their most recent album. More hope was lost for the boys to reunite after their seemingly “temporary” break when Harry Styles, 22, signed a HUGE record deal for $80 million dollars.
There has been rumors of Niall Horan, 22, signing a solo deal, and Louis Tomlinson, 24, who is dating actress Danielle Campbell, 21, is currently in the center of a nasty feud with the mother of his son, Briana Jungwirth, 24.
