‘Pokemon GO’ Finally Launches On Android & iOS Devices & The Internet Goes Wild

Fans of Pokeman are losing their minds over Pokemon Go, which became available in the U.S. July 6 and already the memes are priceless! The game is actually encouraging players to go out into the real world and catch a Pokemon and users are raring to go, so much so that they crashed the site’s servers!

It might as well be a national holiday for Pokemon fans as Pokemon Go became available for smartphone users, and the app will send people out into whatever location they are at and place Pokemon somewhere nearby in the real world. Needless to say, this is probably going to be one of the most popular apps of all time and the Twittersphere has erupted in priceless memes over it.

The game uses a smartphone’s camera and sensors, as well as location-based algorithms, to put a Pokemon into the real world and the real life of the players. Since it knows where you are, you can travel around to landmarks and other locations in your city to catch the creatures and train them. That way, as you travel around to landmarks and notable locations in your city, you can catch the creatures and then train them. If your phone is locked, a $35 wrist-worn wearable will come out sometime in July that will let you play the game as well.

The game has proved so popular that the servers for the app crashed within hours of its debut. So many users wanted it and couldn’t wait to play it and bemoaned on Twitter how desperate they were to get it. One thing that did come out of the frenzy was some absolutely hilarious memes about the new game, especially on how it’s going to now get it’s normally home-bound users to finally get outside, even if it is just to look for a fictional creature!

Readers, are you going to get Pokemon Go? Have you already downloaded the app?
