Roger Ailes Fired From Fox News? CEO Out By End Of Week — Report

Roger Ailes had it coming! 21st Century Fox CEO Rupert Murdoch is going to remove the Fox News CEO following Gretchen Carlson’s sexual-harassment lawsuit against Ailes, according to a July 18 report. Ailes might resign or be fired by the end of this week!

Rupert Murdoch, the CEO of Fox News’ parent company 21st Century Fox, and his co-chairmen sons Lachlan and James have decided to remove Roger Ailes from his post as CEO following a sexual-harassment investigation of Ailes by NY law firm Paul, Weiss, sources tell New York magazine.

“After reviewing the initial findings of the probe, James Murdoch is said to be arguing that Ailes should be presented with a choice this week to resign or face being fired,” the mag reports.

“Lachlan is more aligned with their father, who thinks that no action should be taken until after the GOP convention this week…all three are in agreement that Ailes needs to go.” Uh, same.

The report adds that the investigation against Ailes was, of course, inspired by Gretchen Carlson‘s lawsuit against him. “Interviews are now being conducted at Paul, Weiss’s midtown offices because of concerns that the Fox offices could be bugged,” sources tell New York. Both current staff and former female employees of Fox News are being interviewed by the lawyers as the firm investigates Aile’s “controversial management style”.

Meanwhile, atmosphere at the network is tense. “They’re scared to death,” an anonymous Fox anchor told New York. “The mood is bleak.” We can only imagine.

Gretchen Carlson, a former Fox News host, charged Ailes with sexual harassment in a lawsuit filed on July 6. She was fired in June 2016, and in her lawsuit she claims it was because she refused to engage in a sexual relationship with Ailes. Awful.

Readers, do you think Roger Ailes should be fired?
