Love was definitely in the air at Taylor Swift‘s star-studded July 4 party at her Rhode Island mansion, but for Gigi Hadid, 21, she was minus her boyfriend Zayn Malik, 23, and didn’t have him to cuddle up to. HollywoodLife has details as to why even though he had an invite, he wouldn’t go with his lady to Tay’s bash.
“There’s no drama with Gigi, Taylor, or anything like that. Zayn was actually fasting for Ramadan so he politely declined an invite,” a source tells HollywoodLife. “He just didn’t want the temptation of food and drink to dissuade him from his beliefs, so he dodged the party. Gigi was very understanding, as was Taylor, and there was no fallout over it.” The Muslim month of observance didn’t end until July 5 so he just missed out on all the fun by a day!
Whew! What a relief! Everyone that had a significant other brought them to Taylor’s party, starting with her new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston, 35. Of course pregnant Blake Lively, 28, brought hubby Ryan Reynolds, 39, and Ed Sheeran, 25, brought his girlfriend of one year Cherry Seaborn. Even Taylor’s childhood pals brought along their fiance’s and husbands. Gigi was pretty much the only guest whose significant other skipped out on all the fun in the sun and the loved up time that the couples had, so it’s a good thing to know that all is still well with the turbulent couple.
Even though Zayn missed out on the party of the year — and being a part of all the amazing photos that came out of the big event — he at least was able to get to get with Gigi July 6 in New York for a chill day out on the town together. But it’s such a bummer he couldn’t have made Taylor’s party because we would have loved to see some epic Gigi/Zayn PDA in the ocean or sitting on each others laps in rocking chairs like all the other couples did.
