“If Taylor wants to try and stop Kanye from disparaging her in public and damaging her reputation she can seek a judge who could order an injunction or restraining order to stop Kanye from mentioning her at his event in Los Angeles,” David told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY! Taylor would have to prove, among other things, that the event may cause irreparable harm to her.” Not picking sides here, but could Taylor use those #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty memes as proof of “irreparable harm?”
So Taylor could slap Kanye will some legal papers, but it won’t do as much damage as she hopes. “The criminal aspect of Kanye releasing the footage of Taylor OK’ing the song, taken without her consent, would be minor,” David continued. “No police or DA would likely care to pursue prosecution of Kanye for the release of the tape.”
Taylor has apparently been plotting her legal revenge for a while though. The “Bad Blood” singer initially threatened Kanye with criminal prosecution after she found out about a secret recording of their conversation about his single, “Famous,” according to TMZ. Taylor’s team originally sent a letter to Kanye in Feb. 2016 following the news of the tape.
“Demand is hereby made that you immediately destroy all such recordings, provide us of assurance that this has been done, and also assurance that these recordings have not been previously disseminated,” the letter demanded, according to TMZ. Clearly Kimye didn’t scare too easily to the threat!
So while all of Hollywood and fans continue to pledge their allegiance to one side of the explosive feud, Taylor is probably sitting down with her legal team, plotting to slap Kim and Kanye with a mean lawsuit! Although Kanye wouldn’t face severe charges, Taylor might want to send a little payback in the West family’s direction anyway.
