T.R. Knight Returns To Shondaland: Is He Coming Back To ‘Grey’s Anatomy’?

T.R. Knight is coming back to Thursday nights! The actor, who played the beloved George O’Malley on ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ has joined a Shonda Rhimes show. Is he coming back to ‘Grey’s Anatomy’? Get the details!

Sorry, but T.R. Knight is not returning to Grey’s Anatomy. George O’Malley is truly dead. But T.R. is joining The Catch, Shonda Rhimes’ latest drama, our sister site Deadline reports. He’ll play a recurring character.

“Shonda, Betsy and I are beyond excited to have T.R. back in the Shondaland family — and on The Catch in a role the was created and written especially for him,” showrunner Allan Heinberg said.

Shonda made our hearts melt with her statement on T.R.’s return to Shondaland. “One of my favorite family members is home!” she said. T.R. added, “Working with Shonda, Betsy, and Allan again fills me with immense joy. I am heartened to be returning to Shondaland and excited to work with this exceptional cast!”

T.R. played George O’Malley on Grey’s Anatomy for five seasons. He was killed off in the shocking season 5 finale after jumping in front of a bus to save a girl. During his time on the hit show, T.R. received an Emmy nomination for his role.

Folks, are you glad T.R. is returning to Shondaland? Do you miss him on Grey’s Anatomy? Let us know!
