Celine Dion Dedicates ‘My Heart Will Go On’ Performance To Rene Angelil — Watch

Be still our hearts! Celine Dion took the stage on the Aug. 4 season finale of ‘Greatest Hits’ to sing the ‘Titanic’ theme song ‘My Heart Will Go On.’ As usual, Celine was absolutely INCREDIBLE!

It’s been 84 years… Okay, so it hasn’t been 84 years, but it feels like forever since we heard Celine, 48, sing “My Heart Will Go On” on live TV. Celine brought down the house with her epic performance of the Titanic theme song. No one can sing this song like Celine!

“‘My Heart Will Go On’ has been an important song in my life for nearly two decades,” Celine told the audience, who filled the audience and held up their lighters cell phone for the performance. “Now, and tonight, I’m very honored to sing it for all of you — and for the love of my life. Rene Angelil, you will always be in my heart.”

She belted out those high notes and totally commanded the stage. Celine is the queen of power ballads and always will be. Was anyone else crying by the end? Her performance brought us right back to the moment Rose said goodbye to Jack in the hit 1997 movie. Celine may have been hinting at this performance when she stepped out in a $885 Titanic sweatshirt in early July 2016.

“My Heart Will Go On” remains one of the most iconic movie theme songs of all time. The song won Best Original Song at the 1998 Academy Awards and won Song of the Year at the 1998 Grammy Awards.

Celine appeared on the Greatest Hits finale alongside Ariana Grande, 23, who paid tribute to Whitney Houston with her performance. We wish Ariana and Celine could have hit the stage together for a duet. After seeing Ariana impersonate Celine on SNL, these two need to perform a song together.

Adam Lambert, 34, Flo Rida, 36, John Legend, 37, Nelly, 41, Sheryl Crow, 54, Smash Mouth, Hunter Hayes, 24, and more performed some of the best songs from the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s. It was a fantastic final episode of an amazing season of performances! Who else can’t wait for next season?
