That didn’t take long. Just hours after Chris Brown, 27, finally surrendered to police after a long standoff, he was released from jail on the evening of Aug. 30, according to L.A. Country jail records. The 27-year-old was bailed out after posting $250,000, and now faces felony assault charges. He is now expected in court on Sept. 20, after which he could possibly face prison time.
Police were called to Breezy’s house in the early hours of Aug. 30, after a woman named Baylee Curran called in panic, claiming he threatened her with a gun. Chris stayed inside for hours, posting Instagram videos and taunting officials by allegedly throwing a duffel bag out the window and telling them, “Come and get me!” But he eventually emerged around 2:15 p.m. local time and was finally arrested around 5:00 p.m.
Obviously, the singer has a long road ahead of him after this shocking new incident — especially since his daughter, Royalty, 2, was in his care during the time this all went down! As HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY reported, Royalty’s mom, Nia Guzman’s, lawyer confirmed that Chris was responsible for the toddler on Aug. 30, although it is still unclear if she was actually in the house at the time of the police call.
Chris has already had custody problems with Nia in the past, and even though she lost her battle for full custody earlier this month, this will certainly give her some ammunition against him if she wants to file again. We just hope that, whatever happens, little Royalty is safe!
