Drake, 29, and Rihanna, 28, were walking backstage holding hands when Drake was forced to step behind Rihanna because of the crowd. As he tried to catch up to RiRi, he tripped over her huge gold dress! He got tangled up in her train. Rihanna tried to help him out by pulling her dress closer to her. Thankfully, he didn’t hit the floor. He was able to catch himself. Drake is slick like that!
“I’m jumping, I’m jumping,” Drake said as he got his footing back. Rihanna laughed off Drake’s little fumble and had her hands all over him. After everything was back to normal, Drake and Rihanna’s hands were immediately intertwined again. Then Rihanna wrapped her hands around Drake’s buff arms.
Drake and Rihanna walked backstage after he presented her with the esteemed Video Vanguard award. He surprised everyone by showing up and giving a sweet speech about his longtime love. He told the world that he’s been in love with Rihanna since he was 22 years old.
The couple then kissed on stage in front of the audience. Drake and Rihanna have always been coy about the state of their relationship, but that’s certainly not the case now! They walked off stage together holding hands and continued to flaunt major PDA.
Rihanna wowed with four hot performances during the VMAs. She performed her biggest hits like “Diamonds,” “Stay,” “B*tch Better Have My Money” and more. She didn’t duet with Drake because he was stuck in NYC traffic! But he more than made up for it later in the show!
