Sasha Obama Proves She’s A Regular Teen Working Takeout Window At Restaurant

While First Daughter Malia Obama has been partying at Lollapalooza this summer, her sister, Sasha, has been living a very DIFFERENT kind of life. In fact, the youngest Obama has actually been serving up fish to hungry tourists at a seafood joint — talk about a major dose of reality!

Sasha Obama, 15, is learning what being a normal teenager is all about this summer as she takes on a part-time job frying fish at Nancy’s, a seafood restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., according to the Boston Herald. In the meantime, her older sis, Malia, 18, has been enjoying her summer at the Chicago music festival Lollapalooza.

But while it may not necessarily be FAIR that Sasha’s working while her sister has the summer of her life, we figure it’s definitely a right of passage for her to get her hands a bit dirty and experience a real summer job — it builds character, right? And let’s be real, Sasha is far from suffering during her service industry gig. She’s been working a four-hour morning shift at the fried-fish joint that ends around 11:30 a.m. — WITH six Secret Service agents by her side.

“We were wondering why there were six people helping this girl, but then we found out who it was,” an employee told the newspaper. To keep a low profile, the 15-year-old has been going by her full name, Natasha, and working the takeout counter, busing tables, and prepping for the lunch rush at the Oak Bluffs restaurant.

Nancy’s is actually a favorite stop for the First Family, who always make sure to eat there during their annual Martha’s Vineyard vacay, so it ‘s a familiar spot for Sasha. The Obama are even reportedly friends with Nancy’s owner, Joe Moujabber, which is allegedly how Sasha scored the gig.

“She’s been around for a few days,” one of the girls working the takeout window told us yesterday. “It’s pretty random.” And random as it may seem, we totally appreciate the fact that the Obamas are dedicated to raising their girls in the most normal, humbling way possible. But even still, Sasha’s surprising summer job HAS sparked some rumors within the area that she may be working there as some type of punishment.

Even so, her part-time job won’t last much longer as her family will be joining her in Martha’s Vineyard next week, and Sasha will not be required to work during that time!
