‘The Voice’: Why Alicia Keys & Miley Cyrus Are The Perfect Additions

Season 11 of ‘The Voice’ is officially here — the show aired its special premiere episode after the Olympics’ closing ceremony on Aug. 21, and while it was only 30 minute,s it gave us a taste of what to expect . . . and we’ liked what we saw.

While Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are awesome, and well, very entertaining, we can’t help but say we haven’t been this entertained and excited about a season of The Voice in a long time. And yes, that’s mostly because of the powerhouses that are Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus.

“I don’t know if we’ve ever had a shake-up like season 11,” Blake Shelton teased in the recent promo for the show, and that came through loud and clear during the premiere. “As much as the world likes to make this girl catfight scenario, that’s actually Blake and Adam,” Miley added — but we all knew that.

Overall, Miley and Alicia may not be on the same team, but it’s awesome to see there’s no animosity or “girl fights” like everyone likes to assume. As we saw on the premiere, they’re both extremely talented women which extremely different voices and tastes in music. What do they have in common? Well, they’re both mega talented and can definitely recognize a great voice.

“This season is not a job for Blake and Adam,” a source previously told HollywoodLife.com. “Miley’s liveliness has injected a whole new feel to the panel. Miley loves the show so much and is really trying to win, that it has been infectious for Blake and Adam to want to win as well. They all really think that they will make a star this year and this will be the best season yet!”

It’s very telling that the new judges are bringing in someone they really respect and that really does make the show better. For so long, the back and forth between Adam and Blake has been the focus (besides the singer), which has been hysterical.

However, it’s amazing to see two strong women come in and really shake things up as positive, incredible girls — who also can really give the men a run for their money.

Readers, do you love Miley and Alicia on The Voice?
