Katy Perry, 31, nearly broke the internet by confessing that she’d work with her longtime foe, Taylor Swift, 26, on Sept. 10. When the “Rise” singer was asked if she’d collaborate with the pop star, she simply replied, “if she says sorry, sure!” Wow! Fans couldn’t believe their eyes, since the two clearly haven’t been on speaking terms for some time. Their feud has certainly caused a divide between Swifties and Katycats, who felt very strongly about supporting their favorite music icon — whomever it was. But we must say, Katy’s fans are being very candid when voicing their concerns.
Welp, it seems some of Katy’s fans aren’t quite ready to forgive and forget — yet. Tay allegedly wrote her hit single “Bad Blood” about Katy, which obviously isn’t going to sit well with those not apart of her squad.
The drama even went up a notch when Taylor split with her longtime beau, Calvin Harris. After their rocky breakup, the DJ began a full-fledged Twitter war calling out his former flame and Katy got brought up in the mix. “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it,” he wrote in a series of incredibly livid tweets. Yowza!
Fans are even more skeptical about Katy making amends because of Tay’s “Famous” feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Katy even seemed to subtly diss Tay about the whole ordeal on July 18, when she posted a promo image with the hashtag, “RISE above it all.” Since then, tons of Katy’s fans flooded Tay’s page, posting snake emojis to hop on the Kimye bandwagon. Despite all the drama, we’re hoping that all parties will eventually be able to bury the hatchet. Who knows, maybe there will be an epic collaboration in the works if Taylor apologizes to Katy!
