Derrick Rose’s Ex Weeps In Court While Accusing NBA Star Of Raping Her With 2 Friends

Derrick‘s $21.5 million civil lawsuit began on Oct. 5 in Los Angeles, with his 30-year-old alleged ex-girlfriend beside her lawyer Waukeen McCoy as he gave his opening statement. The woman, who is still unnamed, claimed that the New York Knicks point guard and his two friends gang-raped her in August 2013, and judging by the way she reacted to her lawyer’s explanation, she’s still very torn up over it. Derrick’s accuser remained quiet during the beginning of the trial, but was visibly pained as she dabbed her eyes with tissues and let her hair cover her face.

Waukeen told the eight jurors and the judge that Derrick’s supposed former lover was the victims of a “classic gang rape” by Derrick, who has never seemed to show any remorse for his alleged actions.

He explained that the woman has told him Derrick and two of his friends took turns raping her, as they were all in the same bedroom at the same time. The woman’s lawyer also suggested that she was too embarrassed to come forward with the story at first, which is a feeling she may still have since she spent most of the trial in tears.

Derrick has relentlessly denied the rape allegation, with his lawyer claiming that he always had consensual sex with this woman — and she was just accusing him of raping her to take money from him.

On the other hand, the woman has claimed that she was either drugged or had passed out from drinking before the attack she reported. Who knows if having Derrick in the courtroom would’ve made things more emotional for his ex-lover, but clearly there are two sides to their story.

There have been no criminal charges filed against Derrick just yet, but as the trial continues and Los Angeles police further investigates the situation, things could get messy for the basketball pro. His defense lawyers will be using text messages that Derrick and the woman exchanged to help present his side of the story, so we’ll certainly be interested to see what the juror and judge ultimately decide.
