Kendall Jenner, 20, just pulled off a head-to-toe sporty chic look. Tucking a Lakers tee into her high-waisted jeans, which she paired with heels, Kendall topped the whole look off with sleek braids and a classic red lip. Since we have a whole season of basketball ahead of us (and football!), we decided to breakdown Kendall’s look to copy it for ourselves.
While we’re used to seeing sisters Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner rock a variety of boxer braid styles and colors, Kendall saves her braided updos for sporting events. Getting the look takes a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to finish the style in a matter of minutes.
To start, make sure you brush through your hair so there aren’t any knots, and create as clean a center part as you can. Decide which section you want to braid first and fasten the other out of the way. Then, use a styling wax like the Fat Boy Tough Guy Water Wax (which Kardashian hairstylist Justine Marjan uses!) and apply it at the crown of your head to flatten your hair down and get that sleek look.
Reverse French braid your hair from the front all the way to the ends and secure with an elastic before braiding the other side. Make sure to hold the hair tight as you braid it, and if you want to expand the braids at the end, you can use your fingers to gently pull them apart.
For her makeup, Kendall went more classic glam with her look. Packing a whole lot of highlighter onto her cheekbones, Kendall went for a bold matte red lip like the Estée Edit Mattified Lipstick in You’re Welcome.
