Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie’s Custody Fight: Why It Could Get Ugly After His New Court Filing

Uh oh. Now that Brad Pitt has filed his divorce documents and requested joint custody, things with Angelina Jolie could get UGLY.

Since the actress originally sought sole custody of their six kids, there’s going to be a rough road ahead. Find out why.

Brad Pitt, 52, finally took a stand and filed for joint custody of his six children with Angelina Jolie, 41, on Nov. 4. However, his decision to do so will likely result in more high-tension legal battles, since the actress originally asked for Brad to only have visitation rights of their kids on Sept. 19.

Divorce attorney Christopher Melcher explained why this could be problematic to People. “It could mean is that settlement negotiations are maybe breaking down. Maybe she just insisted that he file a response.” He added, “If Brad is unhappy with the time Angelina is giving him with the kids, because she is really in control of that right now, then it’s on him to ask for a custody order.”

This definitely isn’t a good sign for the upcoming negotiations in their $400 million divorce.
“[Angelina] checked a box for sole custody, he checked a box for joint custody,” Christopher explained. “It’s basically just giving notice to the other party of what their intent is.” Nonetheless, it’s clear the Allied actor is going to do everything in his power to see his children. Things have definitely been getting heated between Brad and Angelina, who officially separated on Sept. 15. At this point, neither of the stars have mentioned spousal or child support.

As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Angelina no longer felt the same spark towards her former flame at least a year before they filed for divorce. It got even more tumultuous after Brad and Maddox‘s alleged argument on a private jet, but on the plus side, the actor has been cooperating fully.

There’s still a chance his DCFS case could be dropped due to insufficient evidence. Hopefully, the former flames can find a way to work through their differences!

Do YOU think Brad will be granted with joint custody or will Angie fight until the end? Let us know.
