‘Drake Night’: 6 Times That Drizzy Was The Best NBA Fan Ever

Is there a better NBA fan than Drake? Whether he’s rooting for the Toronto Raptors or trolling the Cleveland Cavaliers, Drizzy has been a gift to basketball. In honor of ‘Drake Night,’ click to see six times Drake was the best thing on or off the court.

Drake, 30, has given so much to the NBA that the game has given back to him. Nov. 16 will be “Drake Night” in his hometown, as the Toronto Raptors host the Golden State Warriors for an epic showdown. It’s going to be hard for Drake, as he’s tight with the Dubs’ sharpshooter, Stephen Curry, 28.

Although Drake has spread his love around to many teams, he has famously defended the Raptors, especially against LeBron James, 31, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. During the Eastern Conference finals, Drake trolled King James following a loss (though he would end up eating his words as the Cavs eliminated the Raptors.)

LeBron is not the only Cavs player that has felt Drake’s taunts. Kyrie Irving got roasted by Drizzy after the Cavs handed the Raptors a second win during the playoffs. “2 gave us 2,” Drake said, referencing Kyrie’s jersey number. “We’ll take it.”

Long before the NBA playoffs, Drake practiced his trolling skills by trash talking the Chicago Bulls during a March game with the Raptors. He’s lucky the ref didn’t eject him for such a flagrant foul!
It hasn’t all been trash talking and trolling. During “Drake Night” in 2015, Drake brought out the love when he brought his mom, Sandi Graham, to the game. Awww. It was just as sweet as the moves Drake pulled when the Raptors started playing “Hotline Bling” during the game.

Drake put his lyrical skills to the test when he subbed in as a play-by-play announcer during a raptors game against the Detroit Pistons. “That boy Bis is looking for revenge,” he said. “It’s funny. When you put this headset on, basketball lingo starts flowing.”

Well, to be fair, Drake has mixed lingo into his lyrics. In “0 to 100,” Drake namedrops Steph Curry. He even gives a shout out to Steph’s wife, Ayesha, 27. “I’ve been Steph Curry with the shot / Been cookin’ with the sauce, Chef Curry with the pot, boy,” per Genius. Nice.

When he’s not rooting the Raptors or backing the Dubs, Drake can be caught courtside at a Los Angeles Clippers game. In 2014, he took Rihanna, 28, on a PDA-heavy date and where there’s love, there’s also a touch of hate. It was at a 2015 Clippers game where Drake laughed off a fan of his archrival, Meek Mill, 29. When the fan started chanting Meek’s name, Drizzy was just like his rumored love interest, Taylor Swift, 26, and shook it off.

Do you think he’s a great fan? Are you excited for “Drake Night?”
