The people Chattanooga, TN are in total mourning after a bus accident tragically killed six elementary school children and injured another 23.

Folks in Chattanooga are rallying together following the devastating tragedy Nov. 21 where a school bus crashed into a tree and a house, killing six students from Woodmore Elementary School and injuring 23 more. Prayers are being asked for and given in memory of the precious children who were taken from us so suddenly. Faith has seemed to be uniting everyone during their time of unimaginable grief.
Even Bishop Richard Stika from Knoxville sent out a statement pledging that priests would be available to anyone affected by the tragedy, saying “My prayers tonight are with the victims and families of the terrible bus crash in Chattanooga. I remain in contact with our Catholic priests in Southeastern Tennessee and we will make ourselves available to anyone in need.”
A special call went out for blood donations following the accident, that left 23 children badly injured. Residents turned out in force to aid with the cause. The city’s residents really came together in their time of grief and several folks took to Twitter to share their pride with the hashtag #NoogaStrong.
Schools around the area are rallying to show their love and support for their fellow students who were lost in the tragedy.
North Park Museum Magnet, a sister school to Woodmore, is even planning on wearing the school’s colors of blue and gold Nov. 22 in memory and support. A message on their Facebook page read, “The Normal Park Family is saddened by the tragic events that have transpired in our community today at Woodmore Elementary School. As a sign of support, teachers and students are encouraged to join other local schools by wearing blue and gold, the colors of Woodmore Elementary School, Nov. 22.”
The City of Chattanooga in a tweet advised that people shouldn’t be sharing information about the victims until authorities are able to confirm all of the details regarding who perished in the tragedy. So far the names of the young children who died in the crash have not been released.
