Snoop Dogg Blasts NFL & NBA For Racially Profiling Black Players By Testing For Weed

Snoop Dogg is throwing major shade at the NBA and NFL, claiming that the leagues are racially profiling black players for using marijuana while white dominated sports don’t bother with it. Keep reading for more on the Doggfather’s shocking accusations.

Cannabis loving Snoop Dogg, 45, has come out swinging against the NBA and NFL for testing their players for weed, claiming that the commissioners of those predominately black leagues are trying to single out players and get them in trouble. He astutely points out that sports dominated by white and hispanic players like hockey and baseball don’t have such a strict rule. The rapper made his really excellent observation on ESPN’s First Take Nov. 23 when he was a guest to talk about the subject.

“My position is, NHL, they don’t test for marijuana. Major League Baseball, they don’t test for marijuana. Basketball and NFL, they test for marijuana,” Snoop said. “The sports that are basically dominated that people that look like me and people that do what I do. So it seems like there’s racial profiling going on, because like [host Max Kellerman] said, it seems like they’re in bed with the alcohol companies and whatnot.” Preach it Snoop! It’s impossible to watch any NFL game without being bombarded with tons of beer and booze ads. Beverage giant AB InBev even paid $1.4 BILLION in 2015 for Bud Light to remain the official beer of the NFL through 2022.

“It’s not that we want you to come to work under the influence, but maybe when you’re after work and you need healing and you’re taking this medicine to help you with these migraines and these back pains and all the stuff that these pills that you take is really blowing your stomach up and messing your mind up,” he said referring to all of the prescription drugs athletes are given to deal with how heir bodies get banged up during play.

“So now you’re taking something that’s prescribed by a doctor, maybe it’s just a rubbing cream, maybe it’s an edible. It doesn’t always have to be smoking. There’s different ways of being treated through this medical cannabis,” he added. Medical marijuana and recreational marijuana are legal in so many states now, so it does seem a little hypocritical that the NFL and NBA have such harsh restrictions against it still. NFL players are fined and suspended for at least four games if they test positive for weed. That’s a quarter of their season!

Do you agree with Snoop that the NFL and NBA seem to be racially profiling by testing players for marijuana?
