Okay, don’t say we didn’t warn you! It turns out that Laurel’s dad killed Wes. Well, he hired family friend Dominic to do the job, but he’s still responsible for Wes’ death. In tonight’s season finale, we saw Dominic drugging Wes, gagging him and suffocating him before cutting the house’s gas line.
And Connor was the one who Laurel spotted running out the storm door just seconds before the explosion — it turns out he was just driving to save Wes upon finding him unconscious on the basement floor.
Initially, we thought A.D.A Todd Denver had something to do with hiring the hitman (Dominic) because Connor found a burner phone in his desk — the same one used to call Atwood just before she had Wes’ body cremated — but in a last minute reveal, we discovered that Dominic was calling Laurel’s dad to confirm he had killed Wes.
At this time, it’s not clear why Laurel’s dad wanted Wes dead, but we have a feeling that discovery is definitely going to be a part of the central storyline in Season 4. Poor Laurel. She’s pregnant with Wes’ baby, yet her dad killed him. We’d hate to be her right now.
