At the 2017 Academy Awards on Feb.26th, at The Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Warren Beatty, 79, handed the biggest award of the night, The Best Picture winner, off to his costar Faye Dunaway, 76, who read La La Land as the winner when it was in fact Moonlight that had won the Oscar. While Warren did not actually make the flub, he gracefully took the heat and explained to the world how the mistake was made. So who is this veteran actor in the middle of the greatest Hollywood screw-up in history? Let’s take a closer look.
1. Warren has won an Oscar.
The legend has been nominated for a whopping 14 Academy Awards for not only acting but for directing, writing and producing. The guy is no stranger to the big award show as he has been as both a winner, presenter and as a nominee over 20 times.
2. The guy is a hard-working actor and filmmaker.
Warren has written, starred and produced dozens of films spanning several decades. He has been in films like Bonnie and Clyde, Rules Don’t Apply, Heaven Can Wait, Bugsy and Bulworth to name a few.
3. Warren is not his real name.
The famous actor may be known as Warren but he was born Henry W. Beaty. Yep, that’s right, his last name is not even Beatty, but that is OK, we will call him whatever he wants.
4. The dude is a player.
This guy is handsome and the ladies love him. Warren is married to Annette Bening since 1992 but has been romantically linked to celebs like Madonna, Melanie Griffith, Stephanie Seymour, Carol Alt and many more.
5. He is a legend.
As if his own work in Hollywood is not enough to cement his place in history, his now famous Oscar flub will insure that he will be remembered forever.
